What the brand can prove
!

Sheep Inc. invests 5% of the revenue into the Impact Fund, supporting worldwide biodiversity conservation through Natural Capital Partners to improve the overall farm’s regenerative impact on our planet. The Impact Fund is led in partnership with Head of Climatology at University College London, Prof. Mark Maslin

The packaging is fully biodegradable, ISO 14001 and FSC® Chain of Custody certified. To store and protect your knitwear when it’s not in use, Sheep Inc. supplies a 100% recycled and recyclable cotton bag and all paper inserts are made from recycled paper and textile waste

You should know that Sheep Inc. has been the first brand in the world that saves and stores more carbon than it creates. The brand works with Carbon Footprint Ltd. to independently calculate and verify the negative carbon impact of each piece of knitwear produced. The partner they work with does an unbiased assessment of the entire cycle of life. This is called cradle-to-grave, meaning that they measure everything from where the first material is created until you/nobody else will no longer use it and discard it. To achieve carbon neutrality, they made a super partnership with all the companies they work with to make the products or offer them services. They are also using a high-technology treatment, called Eternity X-Care®, and 100% solar energy for knitting. To top it off also their partner for logistics is carbon-neutral - it's called Airbox

Sheep Inc.'s wool comes from family-owned sheep stations in New Zealand, which are part of the ZQ Program. They scour wool (clean of dirt and fibre) at Reda in Italy, the first B-Corp registered textile factory in Italy. Each garment is knitted at Fatextil in Portugal. All knitwear developed for Sheep Inc. incurs an extra €1 bonus per garment produced which is distributed equally to all staff. This results in an average salary increase of 20% per month

Sheep Inc. is a small business with 10 employees

Sheep Inc. has a strict no mulesing policy, but in any case, mulesing is also prohibited in New Zealand

Sheep Inc. invest 5% of the revenue into their Impact Fund, that is also supporting worldwide biodiversity conservation through Natural Capital Partners. Projects currently include: Mississippi Valley Reforestation, Montana and Colorado Grasslands Preservation, Critically endangered Grand Skink Recovery, Carbon Sequestration Capacity of Soil and Wetland Project for Long-fin Eels. The Impact Fund is led in partnership with Head of Climatology at University College London, Prof. Mark Maslin

Sheep Inc.’s symbol of reconnection is the signature NFC tag on the hem of the garment, made from bio-based EcoPAXX®, derived from Castor beans and carbon-neutrally produced. Tapping on the tag with any smartphone (or scanning the QR code) provides all details of your knitwears’ unique creation journey including people involved and the carbon footprint per step and it also links the wearer to a sheep on one of the New Zealand farms that contributed to the knitwear. Their suppliers add key information points about the garment’s creation through a proprietary tech platform that Sheep Inc. has built

Sheep Inc. is a young brand and it produces in limited quantities to avoid waste and dead-stock. They currently only offer 5 timeless staple products: Crewneck, V-Neck, Cardigan, Hoodie and Beanie

They chose Merino Wool as raw material because of it’s incredible natural properties that make it an extremely durable, low maintenance and fit to be worn all year round. Sheep Inc. offers a for-life guarantee with every Knitwear. Should their knitwear ever need mending or maintenance, you can send it back to them and they will restore it
